About

Run entirely by MFA students in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona, Sonora Review is among the oldest student-run literary journals in the country, and has been devoted since its founding in 1980 to offering a venue for exciting new and emerging authors, as well as prominent southwestern writers and artists.

In previous issues we have featured work by the likes of Aimee Bender, Joy Harjo, Maggie Nelson, and Arthur Sze, and our editors have included Tony Hoagland, Antonya Nelson, Richard Russo, and David Foster Wallace. Work originally printed in Sonora Review has recently appeared in Best of the West and Best American Poetry, and has won O. Henry Awards and Pushcart Prizes.
